Karen Gimle (b.1982 Norway) are working on topics related to memory, classification, power structures and myths. She uses film, photography, performance, sculpture and text often in parallel.
In recent years she has built and designed entire rooms and situations where the viewer is a practitioner of the installation. In this form the chaotic language and content creates new meanings and understandings, and the time the viewer chooses to spend with the work is crucial to how it is percieved and understood.
Karen Gimle is based in Oslo. She is educated at Malmö Art Academy and Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam.
