Anna Nordquist Andersson // Mårten Lange – OVERLAP

Anna Nordquist Andersson // Mårten Lange – OVERLAP

Opening: 10th March 5-8 pm

Galleri Format is delighted to present OVERLAP, an exhibition by Anna Nordquist Andersson and Mårten Lange.

Malmö-based artists Anna Nordquist Andersson and Mårten Lange both work with photography, perception and spatiality – though each with very different entry points. In the exhibition OVERLAP, both will present new works that revolve around time, memory and emptiness, and for the first time we will experience their distinct practices in dialogue with each other. The exhibition OVERLAP will, in many ways, resemble an archaeological site of memories.

Anna Nordquist Andersson was born in 1976 in Malmö and attended Malmö Art Academy between 1997–2002. She has exhibited extensively both in Sweden and abroad at, among others, Galleri Vasli Souza, Oslo (Transillumination, 2021) Hasselbladstiftelsen (Published – Fotoboken i Sverige, 2018–2019) Ayumi Gallery, (Translation Theme park, Tokyo, 2017) Marabouparken Konsthall (Overview, 2016) Nirox Projects, (Front/ Back, Johannesburg, 2016) Trondheim Kunstmuseum (Lips Painted Red, 2013), Turku Art Museum, Finland (DEJA VU, 2012), Peter Lav Gallery in Copenhagen (I See Through You, 2012), Malmö Konstmuseum (The Real Thing, 2008), Krannert Art Museum, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA (Facades, 2007).

Mårten Lange (b.1984, Gothenburg) is an artist and photographer based in Malmö. He has a BFA from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg and an MFA from UCA in Farnham, England.
