Don´t Pass Me By is the 5th annual exhibition at Galleri Format by the MFA in Photography students at Akademin Valand and this time around the circumstances have developed into a common format, namely the concept of the poster. The long-standing tradition of this particular, and often ephemeral, form of communication has been re-visited in this experimental project. What relevancy does this space of expression have in the digital society of today? With it´s direct, democratic, and sometimes cheap attributes the poster format thrives somewhere in-between many other established forms of expression. Utilised for political, commercial, fine art or purely informational reasons – the poster format has never ceased being an active and thrilling space to conquer. In order to emphasise the easy-to-handle qualities of the poster and to act upon the current situation of climate change, the entire exhibition will be transported from Gothenburg to Malmö as carry-on-luggage on a train.
